York's stunning £4.2m Millennium Bridge was finally opened by the City's Lord Mayor on April 10, 2001.

The Duke of York gave the structure a royal seal of approval with a visit on May 29, 2001.

The York Millennium Bridge is a 21st century accomplishment. The high strength stainless steel arch has been refined to such extreme slenderness that it is almost impossible to believe that it can support such weight.

Where is it? Why are there no signs in York TO the bridge? Was it just a White Elephant to gain Millennium Commission funding?
